Module 1: The Breath Of Life

  • 13 Steps

About

In this foundational module, participants will embark on an immersive journey into the principles and practices of Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CST), as established by the pioneering work of William Sutherland. The module begins with an introduction to the fundamental concepts of CST, including its diagnostic tools and the importance of tuning into the cranio-sacral system. Participants will engage in practical exercises designed to enhance their ability to perceive and work with the subtle rhythms and tides of the body. The course covers essential aspects of CST, including the basic anatomy and physiology of the cranio-sacral nervous system, the reciprocal tension membrane system, cerebrospinal fluid, and the cranial bones. Emphasis is placed on understanding the fascia and its role within the cranio-sacral system. Practitioners will learn techniques for mindfulness, centering, and grounding to support their work. Key components of the module involve practical sessions focused on tuning into the system, developing awareness, and opening the cranio-sacral system. Participants will explore the clinical relevance of key centers, such as the pelvic, solar plexus, heart, and sub-occiput centers, and their impact on overall well-being. Hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises will guide participants through the treatment of individual cranial bones, including the occiput, temporal, sphenoid, frontal, and parietal bones. The module culminates in a holistic integrated treatment session, where participants will apply their learning in a comprehensive approach to CST. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical application, participants will gain a solid foundation in Cranio-Sacral Therapy, preparing them for advanced study and clinical practice.
